    3. I thought the author, Gary Paulsen, gave very detailed, but not too complicated descriptions, of how Brian was feeling. Do you think you'll read the sequel?

  2. I just finished reading The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It’s about a girl named Mary Lennox, who goes to live with her uncle, Mr. Craven, in his mansion after her parents die from cholera. At first Mary’s very lonely, as the moor is very dreary and she has no one to play with. But when she discovers a locked up garden that belonged to Mr. Craven’s dead wife, she gets curious and wants to make it lively. With the help of a boy named Dickon, who loves nature and animals, and her cousin Colin, Mary works to revive the garden. Mary gets happy working with them and learns that the moor isn’t such a bad place after all.
My favorite part in the book was when Colin regains his confidence and starts to become healthy and strong. It also shows that nature can heal people and bring them joy. I really loved this book. The books is full of details and adventure, I could picture what was going on in my mind. It has a sad start, but gets happier later on. I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves nature and gardening, and also to anyone feeling lonely.

    1. Vani, what a wonderful description of the story! I've read it a few times, over the years, and I still love the way that Mary changes from the beginning of the book to the end. Her changes remind me of what happens in the garden - they're both kind of wild to begin with, then, with some care and effort, they bloom.
Do you know what you'll be reading next?

  3. I am reading "Chomp". It has a great story line. The story line is about a man named Derek Badger. He gets bitten by an alligator, snapping turtle, and about 2,000 mosquitoes.

  4. The author of the book is Carl Haiaasen. Derek Badgers real name is Lee Bluepenny. His tv show is called Extreme Adventure but he is a real phony. He has no animal experience and he has never been in a jungle. The setting for the story is in the Florida Everglades. He ends up getting stuck in the Everglades.

    1. It sounds like Lee (Derek) might be learning some surprising lessons in the Everglades. I think it would be a very scary place to get stuck!
I've read "Hoot", by Carl Hiaasen, and he used a lot of humor in the book, even though there were some scary parts, too. I'm curious about if the character will be different at the end of the story.

  5. I found a book I like it. It is called, "Captain Underpants and the Terrifying Return of Tippy Tinkletrousers" by Dav Pilkey. I like the Captain Underpants series. The book is about Tippy who takes George and Harold back in time.
